Stanyer dialled 999 and when paramedic Christopher Paul arrived he told him that he had woken up to find Ms Snook-Kite slumped against the front door. The first any of Ms Snook-Kite’s neighbours knew about her death was when paramedics arrived at 6.27am - seven hours after she returned home. Mr Wall said that police also found fragments of glass from the couple’s front door on Ms Snook-Kite’s jumper. “It’s impossible to exactly age bruises but it is possible to tell, if you’re a pathologist, whether they are fresh or old. “Where those bruises were found indicated to him they were bruises caused by somebody gripping Tracy Snook-Kite. “On each arm there was a series of small round bruises. “The bruises he found were quite distinctive,” Mr Wall said. When she was examined by pathologist Dr Alexander Kolar he discovered bruises on both arms. Mr Wall said that Ms Snook-Kite died as a result of positional asphyxiation. “Our case is that Tracy Snook-Kite was assaulted by somebody and that assault must have caused her to fall, hit her head and end up in this compromised position.” “The prosecution’s case is that this was not an accidental fall. “Mr Stanyer has always said that nothing happened in the house. Mark Wall QC, prosecuting, said: “What happened in the house? That we have to piece together because tragically Tracy cannot tell us. They both went their separate ways to watch a game of rugby with different groups of friends, with Stanyer returning home at 9pm.ĬCTV footage shows charity worker Ms Snook-Kite went to The Albany Club and returned to their home in The Monks Croft, Cheylesmore, at around 11.20pm. Jurors heard that earlier in the day Stanyer and Ms Snook-Kite had argued after she had returned to their home late from visiting her mother.
Yesterday at Birmingham Crown Court her long-term partner Anthony Stanyer, 49, went on trial accused of her manslaughter. A man who attacked his partner in their Coventry home left her slumped against the front door in such an awkward position that the blood supply to her brain was cut off, it was alleged in court.Ĭharity worker Tracy Snook-Kite, aged 52, died in February after a night out with friends in Earlsdon.
