Universal Media Server (UMS) is a DLNA-compatible UPnP media server that is cross-platform and compatible with all major operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. It is driven by FFmpeg, MEncoder, tsMouse, MediaInfo and more, which combine to offer support for a wide range of media formats. The program transmits video, audio and image formats with little or no configuration. Universal Media Server is compatible with all major operating systems, with versions for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
UMS was started by SubJunk, an official PMS developer, to ensure greater stability and file compatibility. It was originally based on Shagrath's PS3 Media Server. Universal Media Server is a UPnP media server compatible with DLNA.
